Day 7; Kuranda and Gondola rides

We went to the small village of Kuranda. It was situated  in the worlds oldest rainforest. At least that is what our rainforest guide said.
We got there via an scenic historical railway. This train track was built by hand back in the 1800's. So they had to use pickaxes and dynamite.

They stopped at a vista for us with a waterfall view.
When we got to the village, we went on a rainforest walk and enjoyed the shoppes. The trail was closed halfway through but there was plenty of forest to enjoy.
We got some lunch but realized the whole village closed down at 3pm. Probably because that is when all the tourist busses leave. It was interesting but a little inconvenient. We headed back and caught a Gondola back down the valley.
It was so cool! there were three different stretches of the gondola that went over the canopy of the trees. At each stop between there was a vista and a nature walk. One vista was over the Baron Falls.
Along the way, we saw a lot of wild life, including the Golden Silk up-weaver spider and a bush turkey. :)
We caught a bus back to town when we got off the Gondola and finished the day watching Steve Irwin's Crocodile hunter :)
